Market cap : at edition (Aug 21, 2026) $604MInsteel Industries is shutting its Upper Sandusky, Ohio welded wire reinforcement plant, eliminating up to 65 positions and booking approximately $4.6 million in restructuring charges, with operations expected to cease by the end of October 2026. The move comes as gross margin has compressed sharply across fiscal 2026, falling to 10.2% in the third quarter from 17.1% a year earlier, driven by surging wire rod, freight, and energy costs. Management said existing plants have "ample open capacity" to absorb the volume and that revenue will not be affected. The company enters this consolidation debt-free with $22.9 million in cash and an undrawn $100 million revolving credit facility.
